Daily Fantasy Baseball Opening Day Must Draft!

One of my favorite things about the 162 game baseball season is fantasy baseball and specifically daily fantasy baseball. I personally play on Draft Kings but I have played on Fan Duel as well. I prefer Draft Kings scoring and roster setup.

With Opening Day tomorrow here are my 5 hitters and 5 pitchers that you must draft tomorrow.

Must Draft:

5 Hitters:
Mike Trout
Hits Felix Hernandez very well. Batting .367 in 49 at bats.

Miguel Cabrera
5 home runs in 31 at bats vs Phil Hughes and a .516 BA

Buster Posey
11-18 with 0 K's off Josh Collmenter. Small sample size but Posey normally lives up to expectations.

Hanley Ramirez
13 XBH off of Cole Hamels in career.

Ian Desmond
I expect him to drive in alot of runs for the Nats this season and he starts off by facing Bartolo Colon and the Mets.

5 Pitchers:
Felix Hernandez
Outside of Mike Trout Angels hitters generally struggle against the King.

Clayton Kershaw
No explanation needed if you watch baseball however he should rack up the K's against the padres lineup.

Madison Bumgarner
Diamondbacks lineup seems to be weak this year. Mad Bum should be able to get the win and do so at will.

Corey Kluber
Astros lineup could lead the league this year in strikeouts which is one of Klubers specialties.

Max Scherzer
facing the mets lineup should favor the hard throwing Scherzer

Value Plays:
Heres some cheaper guys to look out for when drafting your lineup.

Hitters:
Eric Young Jr.
Danny Santana
DiDi Gregorius
Trevor Plouffe
Dustin Ackley

Pitchers:
Clay Buchholz
Drew Hutchinson
Henderson Alvarez
Chris Tillman
Sonny Gray

Opening Day 2015

Welcome to Modern Baseball Daily! The main focus of this blog will be Major League Baseball. News, Projections, and Fantasy Baseball info will all be covered. I will be doing my top players for daily fantasy baseball as well as best matchups etc.

Tomorrow is my favorite day in all of sports. Of course I am referring to MLB Opening Day. There is one game tonight. Cardinals vs. Cubs to officially open the regular season but the true opening day will begin tomorrow, The matchup tonight is a great way to start the season. A rivalry game, a great pitching matchup, Jon Lester vs Adam Wainwright and the revamped young Cubbies will start to put the playoff hopes and dreaded fear of the billy goat into its quite often hopeless fans. There is a full slate of games tomorrow and of course with it being opening day there will be a slew of great pitching matchups with every teams #1 gun going. I personally cant wait to watch and of course start the daily fantasy baseball season and my 2 fantasy baseball leagues.

Here are my standings and playoff predictions for the 2015 MLB season:

As I was doing these standings the blockbuster trade between the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres went down. The trade sent Craig Kimbrel and Melvin Upton Jr. to the Padres in exchange for Cameron Maybin, Carlos Quentin, Matt Wisler, Jordan Paroubeck and the 41st overall pick in the 2015 draft. My standings do reflect my thoughts after that trade. I had the Braves as a .500 team prior and I adjusted the Padres win total by 7.
